At the greenhouse of UvA Science Park, Michelle and Wenyi are growing cabbage, spinach, carrot, and lettuce in various mixtures of sand with either conventional or organic soil. The first seedlings have started showing. When they've grown bigger, Michelle and Wenyi will harvest them and measure their biomass, as well as take samples to analyse their nutritional content and the microbiome on the plant and root. The results will hopefully settle the debate on whether organic foods are healthier than conventionally produced foods. For now, we will let these seedlings grow and we'll check back in a month or so!
